These are the songs that lived in the margins. Written in the quiet between other things, recorded without an audience in mind in New York City — and released a decade later, more or less intact.
The Sound of Grey is a document of a particular kind of listening: uncertain, searching, occasionally mechanical. It doesn't clean up after itself.
Produced by lionel Cohen in the early 2000s, the 2007 release closes with a remix of Control by Robot Like Me — the only outside hand on the record.
