The Composer
lionel Cohen's approach to world percussion music is rooted in years of direct engagement with the traditions that inform his work. Rather than sampling from a distance, he has learned instruments by hand, travelled to sources, and built a compositional language from the inside out.
The result is a body of work that moves between documentary precision and emotional depth — music that knows where it comes from and exactly where it wants to go. Each album is a journey with a clear destination: a feeling that was always there, waiting for the right rhythm to find it.
